Services
Acupuncture
Acupuncture treatment involves the use of very fine needles, inserted into the body along very specific points (acupuncture points). These points are located along specific pathways or channels where the bodies flow of Qi can be found (Meridians). The purpose is to clear energy blockages and ecourage the normal flow of Qi through the body. Pain can sometimes be a symptom of Qi flow disruption.
Remedial Massage
Remedial Massage is the systemic assessment and treatment of muscles, tendons and ligaments of the body to help with pain, injury and recovery. The term Remedial Massage covers a number of different techniques including, Deep Tissue, Trigger Point Therapy, Sports Massage and Swedish Massage. The particular style used is generally determined by the presenting issues and skill of the therapist.
Cupping
Cupping is an ancient technique dating back more than 200 years. It is often used to help encourage Qi and Blood flow through the body. It also warms an area and can relieve muscle pain and tension. During treatment, sanitised glasses will be warmed by fire and placed on the patient. As the air inside the glass cools, suction is created and pulls on the tissue. It is this action that promotes the therapeutic affect.
Guasha
Gua Sha (scraping), is an ancient technique utilising a hand held scraping tool that is scraped over the skin a certain number of times. This is said to encourage Qi and Blood circulation. The tool is often made from jade with smooth edge.
Electro-Acupuncture
Electro-Acupuncture is a treatment that uses a mild electric current passed through two needles to stimulate the muscle and Qi (energy) in the body. While there is a slight sensation, the current does not affect the patient directly.
Moxibustion
Moxibustion involves burning moxa, a cone or stick made of ground mugwort leaves, on or near the bodies acupuncture points. It is believed that the resulting heat helps stimulate these points and improves the flow of Qi (energy) in your body
